Converge Rural Health Symposium

November 2-3, 2022 | Virtual

Robert Gordon University is partnering with Augusta University, University of Aberdeen, University of Georgia College of Pharmacy, and NHS Education for Scotland to hold the second international rural health symposium. The virtual symposium will be an interactive opportunity for health care professionals from all backgrounds to focus on the understanding of rural health challenges through the lens of education and workforce preparation. Expert panelists will present innovative and creative solutions they’ve addressed in access to care, experiential learning and connectivity challenges. These presentations will foster discussions among breakout groups on ways these strategies might be replicated or enhanced.

Drs. Devin Lavender, Clinical Assistant Professor, and Michelle McElhannon, Public Service Assistant, will speak at the conference. Dr. Henry Young, CAP Department Head , serves as co-chair of the conference’s Development Team, on which Dr. Rusty May, Assistant Dean for Extended Campuses, also serves as a member.

The Kenneth L. Waters Lecture

9th Annual Medical Device Regulations Conference

Medical Device Manufacturers and Innovators, Regulatory and Quality Assurance Professionals, Regulators and Academics are invited to attend the 9th Annual UGA/FDA Medical Device Regulations Conference!

This conference is co-sponsored by the US Food and Drug Administration and the University of Georgia’s International Biomedical Regulatory Sciences program. It will provide educational and networking opportunities to help shape and advance the future of medical device regulatory sciences. Using a tutorial approach, experienced leaders from the FDA, Notified Bodies, the medical device industry, and consulting firms will present and engage the audience on issues related to medical device regulations.

William T. Robie ’70

William T. Robie III Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Lecture and Award

Please save the date for the third annual William T. Robie III Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Lecture and Award on February 9, 2023. Named for William T. Robie III, the College’s first African American student and graduate, the inaugural program was held in 2021.  More than 300 attended virtually and heard Robie, who graduated in 1970 from UGA with a BSPH, share his challenging journey while he was a minority student at UGA.
