The UGA College of Pharmacy made a memorable impression at the 2024 National Community Pharmacists Association’s Annual Convention & Expo held in Columbus, Ohio. Highlights included:
Dr. Ashley Chinchilla Honored: Dr. Chinchilla received NCPA’s Outstanding Faculty Liaison of the Year Award for her exceptional dedication to student pharmacists. Known for going above and beyond, she empowers students to achieve their goals, facilitates meaningful chapter events, and strengthens professional development opportunities.
UGA NCPA Chapter Excellence: The College’s NCPA student chapter was named second runner-up for national Chapter of the Year, and our students placed in the top 10 in the business plan competition—a testament to their innovation, teamwork, and drive.
Excellence in Government Affairs Award: Roswell Cole, a P4 student, received the J.C. and Rheba Cobb Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in Government Affairs. Cole demonstrates exceptional leadership qualities, academic achievement, and an interest in independent pharmacy.
Incredible Turnout: With more than 10 UGA students attending, the College showcased enthusiasm, camaraderie, and commitment to pharmacy practice, along with the support of numerous UGA alumni who connected, engaged, and cheered on the next generation.
