Donors Make Impact in 2022

FY22 has been a memorable year for fundraising at the College of Pharmacy. With more than $2.6 million raised we thank all our alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends who have chosen to support us this year.

During our first ever Beat Week, we toppled Auburn’s Harrison School of Pharmacy in a philanthropy challenge that mirrored the Bulldog football victory over the Tigers.

UGA Giving Day saw more than 120 PharmDawgs ensure that the incoming class of pharmacy students would have every single white coat sponsored.

We also relaunched the Senior Legacy giving program, which encourages students to begin their philanthropic journey by adding their name to their class plaque in the R.C. Wilson building.

Lastly, a record $360,000 in scholarships was awarded to students across all of our programs. The impact within the student body has been profound. One scholarship recipient, a class of 2024 PharmD Candidate, shared a little about their experience.

“I will work hard to become a visible leader in the community with the goals of improving outcomes and reducing costs to patients and health systems. I also hope to be able to give back to the College someday and help students reach their educational goals with scholarships like the one I have been very fortunate to receive.”

Our success and capacity to support students would not be possible without you. As this fiscal year comes to a close, it is not too late to make an impact. Help us reach $3 million by making a gift today. How will you support the next generation of PharmDawgs?

Online contributions can be made to a variety of programs and initiatives.

Consider including the College of Pharmacy in your estate or 401K. Further details can be provided by reaching out to Lee Snelling or Gordon Thomas.

Whether you have already answered the call or are making your first gift, we thank you for your support in removing financial barriers for our PharmDawg students.
